Hidden Gem No More: Nationally Recognized White Wine & Butter Brings Award-Winning Dining to Greer Golf

Chef Michael Sibert's acclaimed restaurant, named to USA TODAY's Restaurants of the Year 2026, is redefining the dining experience inside a local South Carolina golf course.

GREER, S.C. — Tucked away inside the scenic grounds of Greer Golf, one of South Carolina's most celebrated dining experiences is quietly serving guests from across the Southeast. White Wine & Butter, led by award-winning chef and owner Michael Sibert, has transformed the traditional golf course restaurant into a destination dining experience that is earning national attention.

Recently named to USA TODAY's Restaurants of the Year 2026, White Wine & Butter has become known for its elevated Southern cuisine, Louisiana-inspired flavors, and chef-driven approach to hospitality. What many first-time guests discover is that one of the country's most talked-about restaurants is located inside an unexpected setting: the Greer Golf community.

"People are often surprised when they find us," said Chef Michael Sibert. "They expect a golf course clubhouse restaurant, but what they experience is something entirely different. Our goal has always been to create a destination where the food, service, atmosphere, and hospitality come together to create something memorable."

A Greenwood native, Sibert has built a career that has earned recognition across the culinary world. He studied at Cornell University and the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas, became an executive chef at just twenty-two years old, appeared on Food Network's Guy's Grocery Games, won Chopped in 2025, and was selected as a South Carolina Chef Ambassador in 2024.

Today, White Wine & Butter continues to attract diners seeking an experience that blends Southern hospitality with globally inspired cuisine. The restaurant features seasonal menus, house-made specialties, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, and signature dishes that have helped establish Chef Sibert as one of the region's leading culinary voices.

Located at Greer Golf, the restaurant offers guests sweeping golf course views, an elevated atmosphere, and a dining experience that feels worlds away from a traditional clubhouse. The partnership between Greer Golf and White Wine & Butter has helped create a unique culinary destination unlike anything else in the Upstate.

As national recognition continues to grow, Chef Sibert remains focused on showcasing South Carolina's culinary potential while creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through the door.
